Art Contest Judges

The three judges will review all entries and select six (6) semi-finalists from each of the three artwork categories:

  • Digital Design (created on a computer)
  • Hand Drawn (illustration, drawing or sketch with paints, inks, pencil, crayon, etc.)
  •  Photography (shot with a camera)

The artwork selected as semi-finalists will be posted on the website and web visitors will vote for their favorite in each category. The art work with the most total votes will be the Grand Prize winner.

The judges are:

Peter Carey — Peter, Design Director, Marketing for the U.S. News Media Group, has been designing marketing, promotion and advertising collateral for more than 20 years. His work has appeared in magazines such as Condé Nast Traveler, Good Housekeeping, U.S. News & World Report, The Atlantic Monthly and Family Circle. Peter also designs materials for the National Kidney Foundation, including annual reports and educational brochures.

Duncan Stone — Duncan is Senior Vice President/Group Creative Director at Fitzgerald + Company, a full service advertising agency which lists Coca-Cola, Delta Airlines and Wendy's among its clients.  He has won numerous awards as both a writer and creative director. Duncan is the leader of the team that developed the National Kidney Foundation's multi-media "Love Your Kidneys" advertising campaign, which is educating people around the country about the importance of early detection.

Nancy Wells — Nancy is an Art Director who designs award-winning textbooks and textbook covers for Prentice Hall, the world's leading educational publisher. In her 30-year career, Nancy has created, magazines, newsletters, brochures and logos, and has stayed at the forefront of technology, from four-color stripping to the latest software. In 2004, Nancy received a life-saving kidney transplant from her sister
