NKF KIDNEY ART FESTIVAL NATIONAL ART COMPETITION

Rules
  1. Who Can Enter — The NKF Kidney Art Festival National Art Competition is open to everyone—patients, transplant recipients, organ donors, family members, the professional health care community, volunteers, supporters and friends. One entry per person.
  2. Form of Art Work — A printable piece of art that falls into one of the following three categories
    • Digital Design (created on a computer)
    • Photography (shot with a camera)
    • Hand Drawn (illustration, drawing or sketch with paints, inks, pencil, crayon, etc.) You must indicate which category you are entering on your Entry Form.
  3. Subject of Art Work — The art work should represent what one of these three statements mean to you:
    • What living with kidney disease means to me.
    • What receiving a transplant means to me.
    • What donating a kidney means to me.
    You must indicate which of the three statements you are addressing on your Entry Form.
  4. Key Dates
    • Entries must be submitted by midnight on Sunday, January 31, 2010. All entries will be posted on the NKF Art Festival website when received. Depending on the volume of entries, all entries may or may not remain on the website throughout the duration of the contest.
    • The Art Competition judges will review all submissions and select six pieces in each of the three forms of art work categories as semi-finalists. The decision of the judges is final.
    • Public Voting will take place online on the NKF Art Festival website from Friday, February 5, 2010 until midnight on Friday, March 12, 2010. One vote per e-mail address.
    • Results will be publicly announced at the NKF 60th Anniversary Gala on Thursday, April 15th in Orlando, FL, and on the NKF Art Festival website on Friday, April 16, 2010. The Grand Prize winner will be notified the week of March 15, 2010.
  5. Submitting Art – Everyone submitting artwork must submit an Entry Form available online (click here for Entry Form). An Entry Form can also be obtained by emailing nkfartcontest@kidney.org or calling 212-889-2210, ext. 201.
  6. Artwork can be submitted 1) by uploading or by mailing to National Kidney Foundation, Art Contest, 30 East 33rd Street, New York, NY 10016.
    All Entry Forms and art work must be received by midnight, January 31, 2010.
  7. Prizes
    • One Grand Prize Winner, the artist responsible for artwork which receives the highest number of votes, will receive a four-day, three-night trip for two to Orlando, FL from April 15 to April 18, including airfare, hotel accommodations, and a $500 debit card. (Estimated retail value $1,500 - $2,500)
    • First Prize Winners in the three categories (the second place vote getter in the category of the Grand Prize Winner and the top vote getters in the other two categories) will receive a $100 debit card. (Estimated retail value $100)
    • All semi finalists will receive a $50 shopping spree on the NKF Online Store. (Estimated retail value $100)
    • All contestants who comply with all rules will receive a National Kidney Foundation "Love Your Kidneys" Drawsting Bag at the conclusion of the contest.
  8. Use of Art Work — Winning entries will be used to further awareness of the importance of kidney health, early detection and organ donation on NKF materials and made available for sale in various forms to the kidney community. All contestants must read and agree to the Release on the Entry Form.
