There are 18 ESRD Networks. Each is a member of the Forum, which facilitates the flow of information and advances a national quality agenda with CMS (the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services) and other renal organizations.

There are five corporations that have traditionally provided dialysis services to over 70 percent of the dialysis patients in affected areas. Additionally, the End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) Network 13 can assist patients in locating an available facility for dialysis and necessary items such as transportation for dialysis, dialysis supplies, and renal medications.

The Ochsner Kidney and Pancreas Transplant Programs are open. Patients are urged to call 504 842-3441 for clinic appointments and to update their contact information. They are currently seeing patients at Mid-City in Baton Rouge and at the Ochsner Clinic main campus in Jefferson Parish. New patients are welcome.
