Golfers from Connecticut and Maryland Win Titles at the 2009 NKF Golf Classic National Finals in Pebble Beach, California

They grabbed their woods and irons and showed their mettle at the picturesque and challenging golfer’s mecca—Pebble Beach, California. More than 50 teams, all successful competitors at NKF regional tournaments around the U.S., competed in the finals of the premier golf event for charity which helps raise millions of dollars annually to support patients and their families affected by kidney disease.
A foursome consisting of Micheal Brooder, David Giuletti, Josh Olson, and Scott Willey of the Race Brook Country Club in Orange, Connecticut, representing the NKF of Connecticut, won the Platinum Division tournament with a low gross of -55. Walter Brooks, Gary Cooper, Matt Cooper, and Tad Kauffman of Ocean Pines Golf & Country Club in Ocean Pines, Maryland, representing the NKF of Maryland took the Gold Division title with a score of -38.
For the 16th consecutive year, the NKF Classic National Championships welcomed amateur golf teams from across the country to play the fabled fairways and signature holes of the Monterey Peninsula: Pebble Beach Golf Links, The Links at Spanish Bay and Del Monte, as well as the renowned Poppy Hills Golf Course, a Robert Trent Jones II design that has been voted the Public Golf Course of the Year.
