The NKF Golf Classic is the nation's premier amateur golf event for charity. Each year thousands of golfers from across the country participate for the exciting competition and the chance to win great prizes-all to benefit a worthy cause. Top 5-finishing teams (Gross and Handicap Division combined) from every local National Kidney Foundation Golf Classic Tournament are invited to compete for the National Finals held at the famed Pebble Beach Resorts (additional fees required). If the U.S. Open or the U.S. Amateur is not in your future, this three-day tournament may be your only chance to compete for a national championship at beautiful and challenging Pebble Beach Golf Links, Spyglass Hill Golf Course and The Links at Spanish Bay.
Tournament host, Rick "Doc" Walker, former Super Bowl champion and co-host of "Inside the Locker Room" on ESPN 980, is pleased to welcome several Redskins players who are scheduled to participate in the event. They include Reed Doughty, DeAngelo Hall, Ryan Kerrigan, Kory Lichtensteiger, Will Montgomery, Tyler Polumbus, and Evan Royster. Redskins alums scheduled to attend include Brian Carpenter, Ricky Ervins, Brig Owens, and Walker's radio co-host Brian Mitchell. Media members include Wizards analyst and former NBA player Phil Chenier, Scott Jackson of ESPN 980, and Doug Kammerer of NBC4.
The tournament committee is comprised of leaders from the local business community dedicated to helping the cause. Corporate co-chairs of the event are Yasmine Bonilla of Ameriprise Financial, Dave Boyer of BRG Group, and Mike Byrd of ProView. Committee members include La'Mont Baxter of KG1 Consulting, DeeDee Dalton of d2pr, Jim Elkin, founding chair of NKF Golf Classic, Clay Goldsborough of First Financial Group, Curtis Jennings of Verizon/Terremark, Amy O'Brien of HiBall Events, Leslie Taylor of Comcast, and David West of Bank of America.
River Creek Club
We offer a challenging 18-hole Ault-Clark championship golf course with seven holes overlooking the scenic Potomac River. Elevated tees, groomed fairways and greens, as well as a fair number of hazards, traps and woods help characterize one of Northern Virginia’s most award-winning golf course communities.
