The leaders in golf equipment and information are scoring a hole in one for a good cause. PING and Golf Digest have teamed up to help drive down kidney disease with a new campaign called Pingfittedforlife. If you're already fitted for the golf course, get fit for life as well by visiting www.Pingfittedforlife.com and signing up for the National Kidney Foundation (NKF) Golf Classic event nearest you.
Pingfittedforlife.com features helpful information about kidney disease, a schedule of local Golf Classic tournaments in cities all over the U.S., local scores and photos. The web site also spotlights the opportunity to play at fabled Pebble Beach courses during the NKF's annual Golf Classic National Championship event.
"As the recipient of a kidney transplant, this partnership takes on a very special, personal meaning for me," says PING Chairman & CEO John Solheim, who underwent a kidney transplant in June 2004. "The work of the National Kidney Foundation has profound effects on thousands of lives every day. PING is proud to associate with an organization so dedicated to its cause. Golf brings joy to those who play the game in many ways. The National Kidney Foundation Golf Classic is a perfect example of the good golf brings to our society."
Join the 10,000 golfers who compete in 60 local tournaments around the country each year to give those with kidney disease a better shot. Funds raised from the NKF Golf Classic support NKF's free screenings for people at risk of kidney failure - those with high blood pressure, diabetes and a family history of the disease - as well as patient and family services, advocacy programs and kidney research.
