This Turkey Day, you can save your energy for holiday eating while you donate your gas-guzzler to the National Kidney Foundation’s Kidney Cars Program. The funds raised will help put meat on programs that support kidney patients and you may just get the drive of your life as the charity celebrates the 25th anniversary of Kidney Cars with a national sweepstakes.
Donating a vehicle to Kidney Cars any time from September 1 through December 31, 2008, makes you eligible to win one of 25 prizes, including the Grand Prize -- a weekend for four at the Pebble Beach golf resort in California. You may also get a chance to win $25,000 in cash or a year’s worth of gas.
Donating your used car, truck, van or boat is a lot easier than preparing a feast for a busload of friends or family. And when you're done, you might have some stuffing you can really enjoy - like a possible tax-deduction to stuff in your wallet.

Over the last 25 years, more than 650,000 used vehicles have pumped a total of $150 million into life-saving programs, including free kidney screenings for those at risk, research, public and professional education and camps for children on dialysis.
"Kidney Cars is one of the key revenue drivers for the National Kidney Foundation," says Chad Iseman, Kidney Cars Program Director "enabling us to conduct vital outreach programs in the community and grassroots educational efforts. Seventy five cents of every dollar donated to Kidney Cars goes directly to programs and services. The 25th Anniversary Sweepstakes is designed to call attention to Kidney Cars and also to reward our generous donors, many of whom have supported us with multiple donations over the years."
The National Kidney Foundation is the nation's leading voluntary health agency dedicated to preventing kidney and urinary tract diseases, improving the health and well-being of individuals and families affected by these diseases, and increasing the availability of all organs for transplantation.
