Blood Pressure (From the JNC VII Guidelines)
Systolic: < 120 mm Hg -Normal
120-139 mm Hg -Pre-hypertensive
140-159 mm Hg -Hypertension (stage1)
>160 mm Hg -Hypertension (stage2)
Diastolic: < 80 mm Hg-Normal
80-89 mm Hg -Pre-hypertensive
90-99 mm Hg -Hypertension (stage 1)
>100 mm Hg -Hypertension (stage 2)
If the participant has diabetes and/or kidney disease the target range for systolic is <130 mm Hg and diastolic is <80 mm Hg.
