Anticipating a new year is generally a time of reflection and evaluation. But why wait to make a New Year’s resolution to shed a few pounds or start exercising?
Although the holiday season is one of easiest times of the year to forget healthy habits, with the right strategy and a little motivation, you don’t have to wait until the New Year to make better choices. You can start now by increasing your physical activity and watching what you eat during the holidays. You will still be able to enjoy all the festivities, and feel good about yourself for doing it in a healthy way!
This issue of “KEEP Healthy” talks about some overall health goals, and gives tips on how to achieve them. With some planning, healthy practices such as portion control, choosing healthy menu options and exercise, can be incorporated into your holiday routines. Understanding how to read food labels is also very important. The information on these labels will help you to choose foods that are best for your dietary needs. We’ve included an article on how to read food labels, so be sure to take a look at it to make sure you are reading these labels correctly. There is also a special article on planning holiday meals.
