General Information

Disclosure Policy

The National Kidney Foundation (NKF) is required by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to disclose any support or financial relationships between presenters* and commercial entities for all continuing medical education activities (CME) that are part of NKF’s CME Program. All individuals participating in a NKF sponsored activity** are required to disclose to participants prior to the educational activity the existence of any financial or other relationship that he/she has with the manufacturer (s) of any commercial product (s) or provider (s) of any commercial service (s) discussed in an education presentation. The presenter is also required to disclose to the prospective audience when an unlabeled use of a commercial product, or an investigational use not yet approved for any purpose is discussed during an educational activity.

The intent of this disclosure is not to prevent an individual with a financial interest or other relationship from making a presentation, but rather to provide participants with information from which they can make their own judgments.

National Kidney Foundation's Expectation of Presenters

Disclosure and Attestation forms must be completed and signed by all individuals who are in a position to control the content of an activity. By signing this form, individuals agree that all clinical recommendations that are made for patient care will be based on the best evidence, and that they present a balanced view of therapeutic options, and that the content will be in accordance with the ACCME’s Content Validation Statement.

Through the National Kidney Foundation Spring Clinical Meetings and continuing education programs, NKF promotes excellence in kidney health care education. NKF expects that all presenters affiliated with the NKF 2012 Spring Clinical Meetings will provide informative and fully accurate content that reflects the highest level of scientific rigor and integrity.
