Calling All Cooks!
Do you have a prize-worthy healthy recipe? Is your recipe appropriate for individuals with CKD, those on dialysis and/or individuals with diabetes?
If so, share it with the kidney community! Submit your favorite recipe for a chance to win the following prizes and to have your recipe posted online and/or served at the NKF 2012 Spring Clinical Meetings networking reception in the Exhibit Hall on Friday, May 11, 2012. The top recipes will be prepared for reception attendees, who will then taste and vote on their favorites to determine the winners.
The creators of the winning recipes will win the following:
Grand Prize
NKF 2013 Spring Clinical Meetings package – complimentary meeting registration and 4-night hotel stay at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin in Orlando, FL.
First Prize
One-year membership with NKF’s Council on Renal Nutrition (CRN)
Second Prize
Two Love Your Kidneys t-shirts
Contest Rules:
- Contestants must be registered dietitians
- Recipe submissions must include the following:
- The number of servings the recipe makes
- Exact measurements of each ingredient
- Steps for preparation
- Nutritional analysis broken down by serving that must include: total calories, grams of protein, grams of carbohydrates, grams of fat, milligrams sodium, milligrams potassium, milligrams phosphorous
- A color photo of the recipe once it has been cooked (high resolution jpg)
- Submissions must denote whether the recipe is okay for people with CKD, on dialysis and/or with diabetes
- Recipes must be original and not appear anywhere else, in print or online
- Once a recipe has been submitted, it becomes the property of the NKF and will most likely be published online in the NKF Kidney Kitchen
* There is no limit on the number of recipe submissions an individual may make.

Recipes must be submitted by February 6, 2012.
