Workshop description: There are numerous studies that have documented poor adherence to medications in chronic kidney disease (CKD), dialysis and transplant populations. Non-adherence in kidney transplant patients can lead to organ rejection, while non-adherence in CKD or dialysis patients may lead to increased morbidity and mortality. There are multiple barriers that can result in medication non-adherence and numerous strategies that have been utilized to improve medication adherence. This workshop is designed as an interdisciplinary, hands-on session to learn how to apply new technology tools and other strategies to improve oral medication self-management in CKD, dialysis and transplant patients.

Workshop Description: Experts will present interesting electrolyte cases and challenge the audience to make the diagnosis and choose the appropriate treatment. This is an excellent review of renal pathophysiology. Attendees will gain a better understanding of electrolyte disorders and review mechanisms of electrolyte transport in the kidney.
