Target Audience:
Designed for the experienced AP who wants a deeper understanding CKD and management of the challenging CKD patient.

Course Description:
This course will delve into hypertension and hypotension management, decipher the kidney biopsy with details on how to use the information obtained, discuss management of the hepato-renal patients and give a bird's eye view of hematology-oncology topics commonly seen in the CKD/ESRD patient.

Course Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Discuss the chronic hypotensive patient with advanced cardiac disease and the resistant hypertensive patient using patient examples along with a discussion of echo and ambulatory BP monitoring
  • Discuss the biopsy result and initiating treatment on disorders from AIN to ATN through patient examples
  • Assess and discuss various treatment options for thrombocytopenia, leucopenia, and resistant anemia in the CKD/ ESRD patient. (myeloma, MGUS) including patient examples.
  • Review the diagnosis, medical and symptom management of the cardio-renal patient along with a review of the liver/kidney failure patient in the outpatient setting
