Target Audience: Healthcare professionals interested in water treatment

Course Description: This course will explain the functions of each water component. It will describe strategies to effectively monitor your water system program through Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement. It will provide strategies to the nurse manager as well as the Biomed staff to have an effective Water Treatment Program.

Course Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Identify characteristics of ground water and surface water
  • Identify contaminants found in water
  • List consequences of using improperly treated water
  • Identify water treatment components and describe function of each component
  • List the methods of monitoring water treatment.
  • Describe the role of Clinical and Technical staff in monitoring an effective program
  • Review symptoms, causes and actions for water system problems
  • Identify strategies for an effective Quality Assessment Performance Improvement Water Treatment Program
