Nephrology Recertification Course

Tuesday, April 26, 2011 — 7:30am – 5:15pm

Course Co-Director: Harold Szerlip, MD
Session 224, 8.0 credits

Target Audience:
Designed for nephrologists, physicians in training, as well as other physicians who are interested and involved with obtaining ABIM credit.

Course Requirements:
The Nephrology Recertification Course will review three (3) modules (TBD). For those attendees already enrolled in the ABIM Maintenance of Certification Program (MOC), please confirm that you bring these booklets and the answer sheets on site.

Course Description:
One of the requirements for nephrology recertification is to successfully obtain a total of 100 points with a minimum of 20 points in medical knowledge. This hurdle must be cleared before taking the secure exam. Participation in the NKF’s Nephrology Recertification Course is a painless, fun and an educational way to complete one of those booklets. Each multiple choice question will be answered by the audience using a computerized response system. The results will be displayed and followed by an expert discussing the question, presenting appropriate background information, and making a conclusion as to what they think is the correct answer. Audience discussion will be encouraged and course participants will record their “official” answer for credit. At the end of the day, participants will have completed one of the requirements for recertification, learned a great deal and hopefully enjoyed the experience!

Course Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
