The National Kidney Foundation, Inc. (NKF) elected the 2004-2005 officers.
Fred L. Brown, National Kidney Foundation Chairman, is the current Chairman of the American Hospital Association. He is noted for his expertise in healthcare integration, public policy and social responsibility. Mr. Brown previously served as Chairman of the NKF Fund Raising Committee.
David Warnock, MD, was elected President of the National Kidney Foundation. Dr. Warnock is Professor of Medicine and Physiology and Director of the Division of Nephrology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. His involvement with the NKF spans more than a decade, including service on the Scientific Advisory Board Executive Committee and the Clinical Nephrology Meeting Program Committee.
Charles B. Fruit, Chair-Elect of the Foundation, is Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for The Coca-Cola Company. Mr. Fruit is a longtime supporter of the NKF on both national and local levels.
Allan Collins, MD, FACP, President-Elect of the Foundation, is Director of the NKF’s Kidney Early Evaluation Program (KEEP) Data Coordinating Center. An expert in chronic kidney disease clinical and economic outcomes, he is Professor of Medicine at the University of Minnesota School of Medicine and Director of Chronic Disease Research Group at Minneapolis Medical Research Foundation.
Rodney Bishop, NKF Treasurer, is also Chairman of the Finance Committee. A Certified Public Accountant and the former General Auditor for the Monsanto Company, Mr. Bishop recently retired from his position as Vice President and Treasurer of Solutia Inc.
Robert Ogrodnik, Secretary of the NKF, is Vice-President – International for Emerson Motor Company and is also involved in the Lupus Foundation and Combined Health Appeal.
Brian Pereira, MD, NKF’s Immediate Past President, has been an NKF volunteer since 1993, serving as Chairman of the Clinical Nephrology Meetings Program Committee, Chairman of the Early Intervention and Prevention Task Force and as a member of the Board of Directors. Dr. Pereira is Professor of Medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine and the Sackler School of Graduate Biomedical Sciences in Boston, MA.
Andrew Baur, Immediate Past Chair of the NKF, served as Foundation Chairman from 2001-2003. Mr. Baur is Secretary/Treasurer of the St. Louis Cardinals and a member of the Board of Directors of Rawling Sporting Goods Company, Inc. and United Health Network.
