The National Kidney Foundation (NKF) and the College of American Pathologists (CAP) have released a joint statement highlighting the scope of chronic kidney disease in the U.S. as a public health problem. The NKF -CAP statement urges state lawmakers to consider legislation that would establish Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) Task Forces at the state level. These task forces would promote the early detection and treatment of CKD by including a provision for education efforts as well as an evaluation of all available diagnostic strategies for identifying individuals with CKD.
