The National Kidney Foundation (NKF) is now accepting grant proposals for the Franklin McDonald/Fresenius Medical Care Clinical Research Award. A new clinical research initiative instituted in memory of Franklin McDonald, MD, the grant will provide the successful candidate with $50,000 in clinical research support every year for three years.
Funded by a grant from Fresenius Medical Care, the Franklin McDonald/Fresenius Medical Care Clinical Research Award is open to nephrologists with recent faculty appointments, a track record in kidney disease research and promising plans for future clinical renal investigation. Research funded by the grant will be directed specifically toward renal insufficiency and its treatment and will complement NKF’s Research Fellowship, Young Investigator Grant and Clinical Scientist Award programs, which constitute a $2 million annual commitment to the pursuit of learning that will benefit kidney patients.
The deadline for applications is February 1, 2001. For an application or additional information, please contact the NKF Office of Scientific & Public Policy at (800) 889-9559.
