New York, NY (October 17, 2013) – P. Brennan Hart of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania has been elected to the National Kidney Foundation (NKF) Board of Directors.
Hart is a partner at Pietragallo Gordon Alfano Bosick & Raspanti, LLP and serves as Co-Chair of the Professional Liability Practice Group and Co-Chair of the Litigation Practice Group. Hart received his Bachelor of Arts degree from The Ohio State University and his Juris Doctorate from Duquesne University School of Law.
"I've been a champion of NKF's local initiatives for many years. I first became involved with the Foundation's Pittsburgh chapter nearly 30 years ago when my son was diagnosed with a condition that damaged his kidneys," says Hart. "I am proud to share that I became a living donor 17 years ago when I donated one of my kidneys to him, and I am eager to support the Foundation's efforts on a national scale." Hart is committed to increasing public awareness about the kidneys and kidney disease, and preventing others from experiencing kidney failure, which requires dialysis or a kidney transplant to survive.
"Mr. Hart's personal connection to kidney disease and his professional leadership qualities make him a model NKF ambassador," says Joanne Spink, Division President, NKF Serving Pennsylvania, Delaware and Upstate New York. "As a living donor, Mr. Hart demonstrated his dedication to fighting kidney disease on a personal level. As Board Chairman of the Pittsburgh chapter of the Foundation, he prioritized kidney disease prevention and worked to educate at-risk communities about the dangers of high blood pressure - a leading cause of kidney disease."
Spink continues, "Joining the NKF's national Board of Directors is a natural next step in Mr. Hart's commitment to elevate kidney disease as an urgent public health issue. He will be an asset to the NKF's national awareness, prevention and treatment efforts."
The National Kidney Foundation (NKF) is the leading organization in the U.S. dedicated to the awareness, prevention and treatment of kidney disease for hundreds of thousands of healthcare professionals, millions of patients and their families and tens of millions of Americans at risk.
