New York, NY (October 17, 2013) – Fred T. Podolsky of Fairfield, Connecticut has been named to the National Kidney Foundation (NKF) Board of Directors.
Podolsky is the Executive Vice President of Alliant Insurance Services, Inc., one of the nation's leading distributors of diversified insurance products and services. Podolsky focuses on executive risk liability exposures and insurance solutions. He graduated from Bernard M. Baruch College with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Finance.
"One in nine American adults has kidney disease and I am one of them," says Podolsky. "Each year kidney disease kills more people than breast and prostate cancer combined. Fortunately, I received a life-saving kidney transplant ten years ago, but these facts are dire. Early detection and treatment can slow or prevent the progression of kidney disease and I am committed to working with the Foundation to get the word out."
Podolsky is dedicated to working with the National Kidney Foundation to educate the public about kidney disease and its leading causes - diabetes and high blood pressure - and to support the Foundation's initiatives designed to confront the growing public health challenge of chronic kidney disease.
"For three years now, as a board member for the Greater New York chapter of the NKF, Mr. Podolsky has been steadfast in his commitment to fight kidney disease locally," says Gregory Scott, NKF Board Chairman. "His personal experience with kidney disease along with his business expertise make him an ideal NKF ambassador to carry out the NKF's national goals and objectives."
The National Kidney Foundation (NKF) is the leading organization in the U.S. dedicated to the awareness, prevention and treatment of kidney disease for hundreds of thousands of healthcare professionals, millions of patients and their families and tens of millions of Americans at risk.
