When you support the NKF U.S. Transplant Games, you support the ongoing national campaign to find more donors and save more lives. It's all about raising awareness of potential donors and their families.
Lives can be saved by organs, but only organ donors (people) can make such life-saving gifts. And, even if you are never a donor yourself, there are so many other ways you can help.
Here is what you can do to support the Games:
Be an Organ Donor. Check “yes” to organ donation on your driver’s license or sign a donor card. Don’t forget to share your decision with your family!
Wear Your “Donate Life” Bracelet. By wearing your bracelet, you ADVOCATE for organ donation & transplantation awareness; HONOR donors who have given the ultimate gift; SUPPORT NKF U.S. Transplant Games teams across the country; and Give HOPE approximately 100,000 people currently waiting for life-saving organ transplants.
Volunteer. Help the Games utilizing your time and talents. Hundreds of volunteers are needed for this event in the areas of sports, hospitality, entertainment, and more.
Walk or Run. Improve your own health and fitness while saving the lives of others by participating in the 5K Race for Organ & Tissue Donation Awareness.
Attend the Games. Your attendance at the Games shows that the community is involved in celebrating the lives of those who have given or received the gift of life and in making a difference in the lives of those waiting.
Become a Patient Advocate. As a participant of the NKF U.S. Transplant Games, you also serve as an advocate for yourself and others in the transplant community. Join forces with other advocates around the country through the NKF’s “People Like Us” patient empowerment initiative. Advertise. Opportunities are available to advertise in the NKF 2008 U.S. Transplant Games Souvenir Program, which will be distributed to every Games registrant.

Make a Donation. You can support the Games by making a donation to the National Kidney Foundation (NKF). Part of the mission of the NKF is to increase the availability of all organs for transplantation. The Games is an example of this commitment. Through the NKF U.S. Transplant Games, the National Kidney Foundation is able to demonstrate that transplantation works and call attention to the critical need for more organ donors.
