5K Race for Organ, Eye & Tissue Donation Awareness

Walk, jog or run at your own pace in the name of organ & tissue donation at the 5K Race for Organ, Eye & Tissue Donation Awareness, a road race for transplant recipients, family members, friends, transplant professionals, living donors, donor families and the local community. Come on out and join us for some live entertainment, snacks and refreshments!

Registration Fees

(Registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable)
Registration Fee – $15.00 (Until June 5th)
Race Day – $20.00

This event is a USTA certified 5K and will be scored by The Runner's High using the ChampionChip Pennsylvania Timing System. On race day, runners will be issued a rental computer chip which is attached to the shoe lace and worn throughout the race. Special mats at the finish will record a finishing time for each chip. All rental chips must be returned at the finish line. There is a $35 fee for each lost chip.

All 5K registrants will receive a commemorative T-shirt while supplies last. Awards for top three male and female finishers in each age group and overall.

Directions & Parking

FROM THE AIRPORT:

Take Route 60 South toward Pittsburgh that turns into I-279 through the Fort Pitt Tunnel. Keep left after exiting the tunnel and merge left to cross Fort Duquesne Bridge. Exit to left (EXIT 7A). After crossing bridge, turn left onto Allegheny Ave. and follow to North Shore Dr., which circles Heinz Field.

FROM THE TURNPIKE:

Take the Monroeville Exit- head toward Pittsburgh. You will be on I-376. Follow I-376 to North Shore ramp onto Fort Duquesne Blvd. Keep and merge left to cross Fort Duquesne Bridge. Exit left (EXIT 7A) after crossing bridge. Turn left onto Allegheny Avenue and follow North Shore Drive, which circles Heinz Field.

FROM 279 PARKWAY NORTH:

Follow I-279 South. Take North Shore Exit (Heinz Field/PNC Park). Follow Reedsdale to the second traffic light, make a left onto Allegheny Ave. and follow North Shore Dr., which circles Heinz Field.

PARKING:

Parking will be available at the Carnegie Science Center (One Allegheny Avenue Pittsburgh, PA 15212), which is a short walk to the starting line. A low $3.00 fee will be charged per car for parking from 5:00 AM to 9:30 AM.
