2008 U.S. Transplant GamesFriday, July 11, 2008 — On Friday, July 11th, 2008 the Pittsburgh Pirates and the National Kidney Foundation teamed up at PNC Park to raise awareness about organ donation. Nearly 1,000 organ transplant recipients and their families and friends, in town for the 2008 U.S. Transplant Games, watched the Pirates play the St. Louis Cardinals.

Game-day activities included special admission to an early pre-game batting practice, an organ donation video featuring Jamie Lee Curtis playing on the Jumbotron, and information tables where fans could sign up to become organ donors and receive educational materials about organ donation.
