5K Race for Organ, Eye & Tissue Donation Awareness*

Walk, jog or run … Join us at your own pace, in the name of organ & tissue donation at the 5K Race for Organ, Eye & Tissue Donation Awareness, a road race for transplant recipients, family members, friends, transplant professionals, living donors, donor families and the local community. There is a separate registration and fee for Games’ non–athletes and members of the public who wish to participate in this event.

Closing Ceremony & Farewell Party

The Closing Ceremony is the official closing of the Games. The Jerry Cound Outstanding Athlete awards, Team Cup and other recognition awards will be presented and flame of the Games cauldron will be extinguished. The Ceremony will immediately be followed by the Farewell Party, an opportunity to bid your friends—both old and new—adieu until next time!

Coffeehouse

The Coffeehouse is an open–mic forum for donor families, living donors, recipients and professionals to share a few words about their experiences. Participants can relax over dessert and coffee and share personal thoughts, stories, poems, songs or other creative expressions. Donor families are invited to share something about their loved one’s life and legacy. Participants are encouraged to “come and go” as needed; you aren’t expected to stay the entire time.

Donor–Recipient Golf Outing*

FORE! Open to all Games registrants, the Donor–Recipient Golf Outing is a friendly game of golf that involves all members from the transplant community. Prizes will be awarded for Best Ball, Longest Drive and more!

Donor Recognition Ceremony

The Donor Recognition Ceremony is a chance to honor deceased donors and their families. The Ceremony will feature inspiring performances about the gift of life, a video of donors being recognized at the event, and more. Organ and tissue transplant recipients will share reflections on how transplantation changed their lives.

Games Expo

Come and show your appreciation to those who help make this event possible. During on–site registration and check–in hours, registered attendees can walk through the Games expo, where sponsors and other exhibitors will be waiting to greet you with important information, useful products and free giveaways.

Living Donor Recognition Event

Join us at the Living Donor Recognition Event to recognize the generosity and spirit of our nation’s living donors. This uplifting program will include readings, music, and special tributes to those who gave the gift of life. All Games participants are invited to this unique program.

Opening Pre-Show & Ceremony

The official opening of the Games! The Transplant Athlete, Living Donor and Donor Family processions, lighting of the torch, tribute to donors and raising of the flag will be held at this ceremony. Come join the entire transplant community—along with celebrity guests—for this celebration of the ultimate gift—life!

Quilt Pinning

Everyone is invited to the Quilt Pinning to see new quilt squares added to Patches of Love, The National Donor Family Quilt. As each new Quilt patch is “pinned” to the Quilt, donor family members will have an opportunity to share a few words about the meaning of their Quilt patch. The Quilt is an opportunity to honor deceased donors. Participants are encouraged to “come and go” as needed; you aren’t expected to stay the entire time.
