Why join NKF–CAP?
Membership in the Council of Advanced Practitioners of the National Kidney Foundation is open to any allied health professional interested in furthering their professional interests in the fields of renal health or transplantation. In joining NKF-CAP, you become a part of the leading voluntary organization dedicated to preventing kidney and urinary tract diseases, improving the health and well-being of individuals and families affected by these diseases and increasing the availability of all organs for transplantation. Founded in 1950, the NKF has been responsible for major scientific, legislative, social and technical developments in renal treatment and transplantation. The Foundation sponsors patient services, professional education, research, organ donor programs and a wide selection of patient and public education materials.
By becoming a member, you will have the opportunity to join your colleagues across the United States and abroad in keeping abreast of important issues and challenges facing nephrology social workers. You will grow professionally by taking part in continuing education programs. You will have a voice in legislative and public policy issues that affect renal care. You will have many networking opportunities that are valuable to career advancement. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues in other disciplines and with NKF professional staff in areas of mutual interest.

What are the membership dues?

Membership FAQs
When will my membership begin?
Your membership will begin in the month that the application is received and processed at the NKF National office. At this point, you will receive a membership card identifying your membership number and region, and you will begin receiving your membership benefits.
Who qualifies for a student membership?
Any full-time student may apply for a student membership. Students must provide a letter from their school or institution indicating their status and expected date of graduation.
