Why join NKF–CNNT?
Membership in the Council of Nephrology Nurses and Technicians of the National Kidney Foundation is open to any allied health professional interested in furthering their professional interests in the fields of renal health or transplantation. In joining NKF-CNNT, you become a part of the leading voluntary organization dedicated to preventing kidney and urinary tract diseases, improving the health and well-being of individuals and families affected by these diseases and increasing the availability of all organs for transplantation. Founded in 1950, the NKF has been responsible for major scientific, legislative, social and technical developments in renal treatment and transplantation.The Foundation sponsors patient services, professional education, research, organ donor programs and a wide selection of patient and public education materials.
By becoming a member, you will have the opportunity to join your colleagues across the United States and abroad in keeping abreast of important issues and challenges facing nephrology social workers. You will grow professionally by taking part in continuing education programs. You will have a voice in legislative and public policy issues that affect renal care. You will have many networking opportunities that are valuable to career advancement. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues in other disciplines and with NKF professional staff in areas of mutual interest.

What are the membership benefits of CNNT?
Membership in CNNT entitles you to a broad range of benefits. Some of the benefits are:
- A subscription to Advances in Chronic Kidney Disease (ACKD), a quarterly, multidisciplinary NKF journal
- A subscription to Renalink, the quarterly newsletter of CNNT, the Council of Nephrology Social Workers, and the Council on Renal Nutrition, providing renal health information and news for each Council in a multidisciplinary format
- Reduced registration for CNNT educational and scientific programs held in conjunction with NKF meetings, including the NKF Clinical Meetings. The opportunity to interact with other disciplines during these meetings
- Access to the many patient, professional and public education materials developed by the NKF and its constituents - including free samples of patient education brochures and career fact sheets for nurses and technicians.
- A subscription to NKF's Family Focus, a quarterly newspaper for patients and their families

What are the membership dues?
Membership dues are $80.00 per year for domestic members, $65.00 per year for domestic associate members, and $85.00 per year for international members. Reduced membership dues are $25.00 per year.
Membership FAQs
When will my membership begin?
Your membership will begin in the month that the application is received and processed at the NKF National office. At this point, you will receive a membership card identifying your membership number and region, and you will begin receiving your membership benefits.
What is the difference between National CNNT membership and Local Chapter Membership?
Affiliated local CNNT chapters may maintain their own local chapter membership requirements and lists. Membership in a local chapter does not give a person membership in the National CNNT.
Furthermore, national membership does not automatically give a person membership to the local chapters. However, some local chapters reduce dues for national members.
Who qualifies for a student membership?
Any full-time student may apply for a student membership. Students must provide a letter from their school or institution indicating their status and expected date of graduation.
