Lynn loves Ellis. Always has, ever since she saw him playing in a football game in high school. They married soon after graduation; two children followed.
As much as Lynn loves Ellis, he can also frustrate her at times. “He can be so stubborn,” she complains to family and friends.
Early in their marriage, to help bringin extra cash, Lynn took a job as a receptionist in a real estate office. Soon, she got her real estate license; when the children were young she worked part time as an agent. She was particularly good at selling, and as the children grew older, she devoted more time to her career. Now she works full-time as an agent, although because of Ellis’ treatment, she takes him to dialysis on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Fortunately, most of her business occurs on weekends when she shows houses to clients, which permits her to continue earning money that is now sorely needed.
Lynn, 56, is also a voracious reader; she is a member of a book club. Each Monday evening, she and her friends gather to discuss various books. These gatherings also allow Lynn to confide about Ellis and the challenges they are experiencing because of his medical condition.
