Why Become A Member Of The NKF?
The National Kidney Foundation (NKF) supports physicians, pharmacists and scientists involved in the field of nephrology by providing continuing education, developing practice guidelines, fostering research, and shaping health policy affecting renal health professionals and patients. Our physician, pharmacist, and scientist members number nearly 4,000, and are a driving force behind the scientific-medical function of the organization. As a member:
- You will keep abreast of important news and developments in renal care through professional education opportunities. You will have access to NKF journals, newsletters, and educational materials, as well as symposia and conferences, providing the latest information on diagnostic techniques and treatment modalities.
- You will advance your special professional interests. Whether you are a nephrologist, urologist, pediatrician, internist, family practitioner, pharmacist or scientist, you will find activities that deal with your particular concerns.
- You can make a measurable contribution to the mission of the NKF by participating in scientific sessions, serving on committees, and undertaking assignments that can be mutually beneficial. U.S. members can work with area NKF affiliates to promote better understanding of kidney and urologic diseases.
- Through the NKF, you will enhance your voice in legislative and public policy issues that affect renal care.
- You will have the opportunity to interact and collaborate with other renal health professionals prominent in their fields.
- Finally, your membership is important to maintain continued leadership and to advance research in the field of kidney and urologic diseases. The stronger our membership, the greater the success in achieving our mission of "making lives better."
