Tributes to their Donors from Young Recipients:
“My name is Megan Larsen. When I was 20 months old, I was diagnosed with liver cancer and my doctors started chemo. They even tried chemo immobilization three times, and then they tried to take it out, but could not get it all. So we had to try a transplant. I could not get a liver because of my cancer, so my Daddy gave me some of his. Thanks, Dad. That made it so I could run in the 2002 U.S. Transplant Games when I was two and participate this year. I will turn five this year and start kindergarten. Thanks to all those who donated life to us.”
