CNY Kidney Walks 2009

What is the Kidney Walk?

CNY Kidney Walk 2009Twenty six million people have chronic kidney disease and millions more are at risk. The NKF’s Kidney Walk presents an occasion for dialysis patients, organ transplant recipients, donor families, living donors, the medical communities, and the general public to celebrate LIFE and support the National Kidney Foundation’s mission.

In addition to raising funds for local public education programs, the Walk is a great way to bring the community together!

The Kidney Walk is the National Kidney Foundation’s non-competitive fundraising walk. The focus is on education and prevention of kidney and urinary tract diseases, and awareness of the need for organ donation. Kidney Walks are held nationwide from early spring to late fall.

Why Support the Kidney Walk?

In 2008, the National Kidney Foundation of CNY hosted six Kidney Walks that attracted over 700 participants who together raised more than $75,000.

The 2009 Central New York Kidney Walks will be held on:

Patient and Community Services for early detection screenings and to support patients and families whose lives are changed forever by kidney disease.

Public Education Initiatives to heighten awareness of the importance of early detection and the desperate need for organ donation.

Professional Education Programs to ensure kidney doctors and other health care professionals never stop learning the latest in kidney disease clinical treatment.
