Casual For Kidneys Day School Challenge

Rally 'round kidney health and engage students and teachers in the fight against kidney disease!

Casual For KidneysRegister today for the Casual for Kidneys School Challenge, a program that inspires students to

  • set fundraising goals,
  • create community outreach plans, and
  • learn the importance of kidney health.

The National Kidney Foundation has the tools and expertise to help you implement and promote this program easily from start to finish!

Here's how it works: Challenge your students and teachers to compete against each other to raise funds, but there is more than school pride at stake—the money raised goes to fight kidney disease and increase awareness about organ donation. From collecting coins to pretzel sales and sports-themed days, the focus is to raise money, earning them a day to dress casual. The program can easily be tailored to fit your school's needs and objectives.

Planning:

  • Set a fundraising goal for your school/class, and determine the minimum donation amount to earn a "Casual for Kidneys" sticker (provided by the National Kidney Foundation).
  • Complete and display "Casual Day" flyers in the cafeteria, staff lounge and break areas, bulletin boards, etc.
  • Have fun! Be creative! Publicize your goals and fundraising ideas, set incentives for top fundraisers, and celebrate success!

Education:
Through the School Challenge program, NKF can provide teachers with helpful information to share with students and their families regarding kidney disease and organ transplantation. The School Challenge is a great way to reinforce the importance of nutrition and exercise in regard to kidney health.

The funds raised through School Challenge events enable NKF to offer a variety of programs, treatments and public screenings which are critical to improving the lives of those diagnosed with kidney disease. 26 Million Americans---1 in 9 adults---have chronic kidney disease and most don't know it. So, please join the National Kidney Foundation in the fight against kidney disease, and rally your school to make a positive difference in people's lives!
