Doc Walker ProView Golf Tournament
Benefiting the National Kidney Foundation

In its initial year, the Doc Walker ProView Golf Tournament benefiting the National Kidney Foundation raised close to $60,000 to fight kidney disease in the Washington, DC area. On this brisk May 6 morning, 100 golfers took the greens for a shotgun style tournament at the beautiful River Creek Golf Course to support the Foundation's programs and services.

Doc WalkerRick "Doc" Walker, former Washington Redskins' tight end, Super Bowl champion and co-host of "Inside the Locker Room" on ESPN 980, said, "This is a wonderful combination of passion for a great cause, desire to play golf at River Creek and to help raise funds to support the National Kidney Foundation." Doc emceed the event along with some help from Washington Redskins safety Reed Doughty and NBC4's Chief Meteorologist Doug Kammerer.

In addition to Walker, Doughty, and Kammerer, the tournament hosted the following celebrities:

Golfers of all skill levels participated in this team scramble competition for the chance to win great prizes, all to benefit a worthy cause. After a fun day on the course, which included closest to the pin, longest drive, and putting contests, participants headed to the clubhouse for the cocktail hour and silent auction. The auction included private golf lessons, high end handbags, autographed jerseys and footballs, a winery package, and more. The day concluded with a luncheon and the awards ceremony for the tournament winners.
