Your Kidneys & You

Do you know what your kidneys do every day to keep you healthy? Do you know that one in three Americans is at risk for developing kidney disease? Now is the time to learn more and find out if you are at risk.

The National Kidney Foundation's new Your Kidneys & You program was developed to raise awareness among the general public and individuals at risk for kidney disease by educating them about kidneys, risk factors for kidney disease, and how to protect your kidneys.

Your Kidneys & You is a 30 minute presentation (with additional 15 minutes for Q&A) using PowerPoint slides and handouts for groups of all sizes. Your speaker will be a trained NKF volunteer that may have personal experience with kidney disease and organ donation or simply be passionate about the cause. A medical background is not required to be a presenter.

You will learn:

  • What kidneys do
  • Why kidneys are so important to your health
  • What kidney disease is
  • Who is at risk
  • Actions you can take to protect your kidneys
