The 2009 People Like Us Patient Conference was a tremendous success with over 100 dialysis patients and their family members gathering to learn new methods of living well with chronic kidney disease (CKD). D.C. City Council Member Marion Barry and guests from the Renal Support Network, Mid-Atlantic Renal Coalition ESRD Network 5, and the National Institutes of Health spoke about the importance of being an advocate for your own health and knowing how to best care for your body and mental wellbeing.
