Introduction
Welcome to the NKF's Kidney Cars info site - kcars.org! Donating vehicles (including cars, trucks, motorcycles, motorhomes and even boats) to the National Kidney Foundation couldn't be easier! You will find information here about the process of vehicle donation and how it can benefit the NKF and you! To begin, here are some of the benefits of the Kidney Cars Program:
- Kidney Cars takes vehicles running or not, as long as they are whole and have a motor, transmission and clear title.
- Kidney Cars is a no-cost, no-hassle method of donating to the NKF.
- Kidney Cars is a year-round program.
- Donors may be eligible for a tax deduction.
- Free towing!!!
- Each donated vehicle is checked for a "stolen" status.
- Kidney Cars are environmentally-friendly!

Who Benefits
Children, Teens and Adults Who Suffer from Kidney and Urinary Tract Diseases
The National Kidney Foundation strives to fulfill its mission by providing patient and family services, funding research, supporting health care education and promoting prevention and public education. The NKF also stands strong in its commitment to increase the availability of all organs for transplantation. Proceeds from Kidney Cars are used to support the many programs in this community so your unwanted vehicle become a life-saving machine HERE -- in Tennessee.
The Donor
The Kidney Cars Program is a FREE and EASY way to get rid of an unwanted vehicle, if you are:
- Spending too much time or money on repairs.
- Unhappy with the trade-in value offered for your vehicle.
- Unwilling to go through the time, expense, loss of privacy and possible security risk of selling the vehicle yourself and dealing with strangers.
- Tired of paying registration fees and insurance premiums on an infrequently used vehicle.
- Looking for a potential tax deduction.
- Interested in supporting programs and services of the National Kidney Foundation.
The Environment
The primary way the Kidney Cars Program helps the environment is through whole vehicle reuse: the creation of another life for vehicles that would otherwise have been sent on for end-of-life processing. Those vehicles, previously destined for scrapping, that are repairable, are given the chance to be utilized again as a whole vehicle. (As long as the emissions systems are still in working order!)
Each year thousands of vehicles are donated to The National Kidney Foundation's Kidney Cars Program! Those that can't be repaired and reused are recycled in the most environmentally friendly ways possible. And, the money from all that scrap material helps kidney patients! It's a win-win situation.
How it Works
To donate your vehicle, the first step is to either fill out our online Donation Form (the easiest way), or simply contact us to let us know of your intentions. You can visit our Contact Page to find several ways to contact us. The second step is to either bring or send your vehicle's title to us (if you fill out our online Donation Form, we will be contacting you!). Once we receive your title, the vehicle will be towed at no charge to you!
