Chronic Kidney Disease in the 21st Century for the Primary Care Provider

The Primary Care Education conference will update the busy health care provider on methods of identification and intervention to delay the progression of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD). Primary care physicians and other health care professionals will be invited to hear experts on different topics concerning CKD.

Target Audience: Physicians, Family Physicians, Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners.

Learning objectives:

  • Demonstrate understanding of the changes in the CKD guidelines across all stages
  • Identify diagnosis and treatment of Acute Kidney Disease, including how to manage complications
  • Demonstrate health literacy concepts in a practice setting
  • Implement at least 2 strategies to educate CKD patients on how to choose foods lower in high fructose corn syrup and phosphorus
  • Recognize the importance of the transition of pediatric renal disorders into adult care
