Welcome to the Kidney Cars Program, the easy way to donate your car! Your donation will help to fund preventative kidney health screenings, public education, patient assistance and research programs.

How Kidney Cars Works
We have three requirements for donating a vehicle:
- You must have a clear title on the vehicle
- It must be a complete vehicle
- The vehicle must have four (4) inflated tires
After completing the one-page donation form and signing your vehicle title over to NKF Serving Eastern Missouri & the Metro East, you may mail or deliver your paperwork to our office. Upon receiving the paperwork, we will notify our towing company. They will call you to arrange a pick-up. In most cases, we’ll have your vehicle picked up in 2 to 3 days.
To make your donation even more meaningful, you may drop off your vehicle at St. Louis Auto Auction. This will save the Foundation towing fees of $50 - $65. Please call our office for further information.
We will sell the vehicle, and the proceeds will be directed to NKF programs and operations. Our organization receives approximately 75% of the proceeds; the remaining 25% comprises towing and auction fees. We will send you a letter acknowledging your donation.
*Tax Benefit
If you itemize your taxes, you may claim the fair market value of your vehicle up to $500. If your vehicle sells for more than $500 at our auction, we will inform you of that in the acknowledgment letter. You will then be able to claim the higher amount; i.e., if your vehicle sells for $1200.00, then your deduction will be $1,200.00. Please consult your tax advisor for further guidance.

Your Community Does!
The Kidney Cars Program has helped neighborhood beautification efforts in communities across the country by removing unwanted vehicles at no cost to the owners or to tax payers. Neighborhood clean-up programs have a positive effect on safety and property values!
The Environment Does!
Reducing Air Pollution. The Kidney Cars Program removes unwanted vehicles from the highway, many of which are 10 years old or older and have a high level of emissions that pollute the air and destroy the ozone layer.
Increasing Reuse.
Vehicles that are donated to the Kidney Cars Program are sold to either licensed wholesale dealers or recyclers. Vehicles that are sold to wholesale dealers are repaired, sold and reused by the public.
Increasing Recycling.
Car parts not suitable for reuse are shredded and recycled…keeping them out of landfills. According to the Steel Recycling Institute, every ton of steel we recycle saves 2500 pounds of iron ore, 1400 pounds of coal and 120 pounds of limestone.
Kidney Patients Do!
Proceeds raised in our area will fund free kidney preventative health screenings, emergency financial assistance and free nutritional supplements for dialysis patients, community education activities, medical symposia for professionals in the “kidney community,” and medical research fellowships.
