Kidney Early Evaluation Program (KEEP)

Every year, The NKF Serving North Texas along with the Dallas Patient Services Committee and the Tarrant County Council for Nephrology Social Workers offers education seminars to those living with kidney disease. The goal of these annual workshops is to improve the quality of life for people living with CKD and those who care for them. The NKF Kidney Walk presents an occasion for dialysis patients, organ transplant recipients, donor families, living donors, the medical communities, and the general public to celebrate LIFE and support the Foundation's mission.

- Event on May 2 was great success. We had almost 1,000 walkers registered and raised more than $120,000. Donations are still being accepted and we will announce final tallies at the end of June.

The purpose of the golf tournament is to raise funds to send children whose lives are challenged by kidney disease and other renal complications to Camp Reynal, a free, overnight camping experience sponsored by the National Kidney Foundation Serving North Texas.
Camp Reynal
Camp Reynal is a unique overnight camping experience for children, ages 8 to 16, whose lives are challenged by kidney and urological problems. Due to the high cost of having chronic kidney disease, no camper pays to attend Camp Reynal. Camp Reynal is held at Camp John Marc, a camp built for children with chronic diseases, from May 31st — June 5 th, 2009.
U.S. Transplant Games
The U.S. Transplant Games is a four-day athletic competition among recipients of organ transplants. Competition in the U.S. Transplant Games is open to anyone who has received a lifesaving solid organ transplant--heart, liver, kidney, lung, and pancreas. Bone marrow recipients are also eligible to participate. As much as the Games is an athletic event that calls attention to the success of organ and tissue transplantation, it is also a celebration of life among recipients, their families and friends.
