The NKF Serving North Carolina provides the following local services and benefits to dialysis and transplant patients in all 100 counties of North Carolina:
- Brochures
Brochures and information about kidney disease, transplantation and organ donation are available to patients free of charge from the NKFNC office. - "Choose-a-Meal" Diet Book
The NKFNC also publishes "Choose-a-Meal" an illustrated renal diet book for patients that simply and clearly explains proper foods and portion sizes for those with ESRD. Choose-a-Meal is available in both English and Spanish versions. 
The U.S. Transplant Games
The U.S. Transplant Games, sponsored nationally by the National Kidney Foundation are held every other summer. The 2008 Transplant Games were held in Pittsburgh, PA, from July 11-16. The NKFNC sponsors a team of transplant recipients to attend the games and participate in sports like track and field, swimming, golf, bike racing and bowling. If you are a transplant recipient residing in NC and would like to participate in the July 30—August 4, 2010 Games in Madison, WI, please contact Dawn Williams.
