Educational Materials and Brochures
NKF has a variety of very informative brochures, newsletters, and videos on a number of topics including kidney disease, treatment options, nutrition, blood pressure, and resources for renal patients. Educational seminars are also presented on occasion. Please check our calendar of events and visit your local NKF office to see everything we offer to the community! more information

Medical Jewelry
Medical Jewelry can be ordered through the NKF's Emergency Assistance program. Stainless Steel raised symbol bracelets or necklaces are supplied by Apothecary Products, Inc. and can include up to 5 lines with 20 characters per line. The cost runs between $11.60 - $17.66 depending on how many lines are used. Please speak to your social worker to complete an Emergency Assistance Request, or call (314) 961-2828 and ask for Karen Meyer, Program Manager. Shipping takes 4 - 6 weeks.

Energy Assistance
Each year NKF provides financial grants to renal patients to assist with energy needs when other community resources have been exhausted. Eligibility is based on annual income and proven financial need. Each patient's grant request must be submitted by the patients' Renal Social Worker. Requests are evaluated by the Patient Services Coordinator.

Nutritional Supplement Program
NKF provides nutritional supplements to renal patients who have documented nutritional and financial need. Requests may be made by the patient's social worker, dietician, or physician, and requests are evaluated by the Patient Services Coordinator.

Cookbooks
NKF offers several renal diet cookbooks with delicious recipes coupled with nutrient analysis information. Also available are seasoning suggestions, hints for fluid control, converting recipes to exchanges, a conversion chart for milk substitutes, just to name a few. Please stop in and see our selection!

Kidney Screenings
Kidney Early Evaluation Program is a FREE health screening program designed to help identify individuals who are at risk of developing kidney failure, and inform them of that risk. Appropriate medical attention may delay or prevent the on-set or progression of kidney disease. more information
