Patient & Family Services
The NKF Serving Ohio provides many Patient & Family Services to meet the needs of patients and their families. The following are a few programs and services provided through our grass roots committee structure.
- Medical ID Jewelry
Provides patients with I.D. jewelry that will alert medical personnel to the specific needs of End Stage Renal Disease patients. - Emergency Financial Assistance
The NKF Serving Ohio offers patients limited funds on an emergency basis throughout the state of Ohio. All requests for Emergency Financial Assistance must be made by a renal social worker. - New Patient Packets
New Patient Information Packets are made available to all patients who receive treatment for kidney failure at facilities served by the NKF Serving Ohio. Its purpose is to inform patients and their families abut kidney disease and of the variety of resources and activities provided by the NKF Serving Ohio. - Literature
The NKF Serving Ohio has over 100 pieces of educational literature discussing the kidneys, kidney disease, early intervention and prevention, treatment options, nutrition, rehabilitation, health care services, organ donation and transplantation, donor family support, and DOQI. - Kappa Kidney Camp
The NKF Serving Ohio is pleased, once again to offer the Kappa Kidney Camp for children with kidney disease. Kappa Kidney Camp offers a wonderful array of summertime activities in an environment specifically designed for youngsters, ages 8 to 18 years old who are either on dialysis or who have had a kidney transplant. Campers enjoy a six-day, five night stay at a camp fully staffed with expert medical care. - Manage your high blood pressure at the BP Success Zone
