Kidneys for Life: Diabetes, Hypertension, and More: Managing the Patient with Chronic Kidney Disease

Professional Education

It is imperative that today's healthcare professionals are trained on the most cutting edge medical advances in kidney disease. The NKFSC meets this need by providing the Kidneys for Life programs for primary care physicians, physician assistants, nurses and other healthcare professionals.

The NKFSC offers CME's through our online program Kidneys for Life: Diabetes, Hypertension, and More: Managing the Patient with Chronic Kidney Disease. This multi-component program educates members of the medical community on the KDOQI guidelines for identification, testing and treatment of chronic kidney disease(CKD) stages 1-3. In addition we have our CEU program for nursing Kidneys for Life: Diabetes, Hypertension, and More: Educating the Patient with Chronic Kidney Disease. Programs are offered at various times and locations in South Carolina. If you are a member of a healthcare organization or agency and would like to participate in this or other programs, please contact Leanne Thompson, MS, Director of Medical and Community Projects in the Columbia area at (803) 799-3870 or 1-800-488-2277.

The National Kidney Foundation also offers CEU's to all healthcare professionals through the Kidney Learning System (KLS). These self-study programs are often CD-ROM or montypes and have a content range for all stages of chronic kidney disease. For more information, click on the link above.
