Professional Education

The provision of continuing education for healthcare professionals involved in the care of kidney patients is central to the mission of the NKF Serving East Tennessee.

One of the major goals of the National Kidney Foundation is to support research that will advance our understanding of kidney diseases and, ultimately, lead to a cure for them. The NKF Serving East Tennessee, with its sister affiliates, award more than 2 million dollars annually to support post-doctoral research fellows conducting basic research in kidney and urinary tract disorders.

Renal medical professionals are invited to attend the Annual Renal Symposium. CME credits for physicians, nurses, social workers and dieticians will be offered.
