That depends on how quickly you return your signed title and other information and on how quickly we can establish a convenient time for you to turn over the car. We set the towing process in motion the same day we receive your information packet. - I need to get rid of my car in a hurry. Can't I just donate by phone?
As much as we'd like to, we cannot pick-up your car until we have your completed donation paperwork and signed title in hand. You can obtain this paperwork by calling 1-800-488-CARS or click the link below to donate online. - Is my donation tax deductible?
The National Kidney Foundation is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) corporation, so your donation may be tax deductible. Since each case is different, it is best to consult your tax advisor or accountant for details. - I live in a town where there isn't an NKF office. Can you still pick up my car?
No problem. Our towing service is generally available nationwide. - How will the American Jobs Creation Act of 2004 affect my vehicle donation?
In section 884 of the American Jobs Creation Act of 2004 (Public Law No. 108-357), charities are required to disclose to each donor, and to the IRS, the actual gross selling price of their donated vehicle valued at $500.00 or more. The gross selling price of the vehicle ($500 or more) will become the amount a donor can take as a federal tax deduction. If however the vehicle sells for $499.99 or less the donor may claim a value up to that amount, not to exceed $499.99.
