Has your car been anywhere special? Has anything unusual happened to it? We want to hear the story behind your car! Be sure to include the year, make and model of your vehicle, a photo, when you donated it to the National Kidney Foundation, and, of course, YOUR STORY!

This Austin Healy replica was a kit car, modeled on a VW Chassis with a Chevy 350 engine (very big, too powerful for the frame of the Healy). Because it was such a specialty vehicle, he was heartbroken when he thought about selling it. So he decided he could get a better tax break, wagering the market value of the vehicle if he had gotten it to its specialty market in Las Vegas or Phoenix. The donor is a friend of Senator Jake Garn and wished to remain anonymous. The car was sold at a Las Vegas specialty auction for approximately $9,000.
