Take ActionGift of Life Congressional Medal Act
The U.S. Congress wants to recognize the sacrifice of living and deceased organ donors with a commemorative medal. The Stephanie Tubbs Jones Gift of Life Congressional Medal Act, which passed the House of Representatives (H.R. 6950) on September 25, 2008 and is pending in the Senate (S. 3530), will establish a congressional medal of honor to be bestowed upon living donors and donor families. This medal is named for former Congresswoman Tubbs Jones, who was dedicated to eliminating health disparities and protecting vulnerable populations.
