Get the Facts on Organ and Tissue Donation in Kentucky

In the state of Kentucky, approximately 567 patients are currently waiting for a life-saving organ transplant.

Last year, 319 transplants were performed in the state of Kentucky.

Since 1988, there are approximately 609 patients who received an organ from a live donor and 3,738 patients who received an organ from a cadaveric donor. In 2005, 49 Kentucky residents said “yes” to being a live donor for families, friends and even coworkers, compared to 270 cadaveric donors.
