Our quilt square has butterflies and the color blue. Both were favorites and while stitching and losing a tear or two, several thoughts occurred to share. Russ was our fourth child and second son. His older sisters and brother were instrumental in teaching him many things, such as bicycle riding, which he learned to do at the age of four, so that he could go with them around the neighborhood.. As our only blond baby, he was special to the whole family, growing to be a good size young man at six feet, taller than his brother. He was an eager contributor to many shared family memories.. "Even in the dead of winter/The sun rises to warm the earth/To melt the icy daggers of despair/A burning glow of strength and survival."
Russ is loved and missed by many, but especially by his parents, Jim and Marjorie Shore
