Honoring Living Donors

Honoring Living Donors

The National Kidney Foundation offers transplant recipients, family members and friends several opportunities to honor those who have selflessly given the gift of life through living donation:

NKF U.S. Transplant Games
The National Kidney Foundation's U.S. Transplant Games is an Olympic-style athletic competition for organ transplant recipients and includes additional events and programs for living donors, donor families and health care professionals. Hosted in even-numbered years in different cities throughout the country, the Games bring together all of those touched by donation in a tribute to transplantation and those who gave the gift of life.

Living Donor Pin

Living Donor Recognition Event (LDRE)
Held at the NKF U.S. Transplant Games in even-numbered years, we recognize the generosity and spirit of our nation’s living donors.

National Donor Recognition Ceremony and Workshop (NDRCW)
A biennial event held by the Federal government in odd-numbered years in the Nation’s capital. The NDRCW pays tribute to all Americans who have donated organs, tissue or marrow to save or enhance the lives of others.
