A Message From Our Council Chair
Dear Transplant Candidates, Recipients, Families and Friends:
Welcome to the transAction Council Web Site! On behalf of the Executive Committee, we hope that you find the site informative and useful. We also hope if you should suggestions for improvements to the site that you contact us with your suggestions. We are here to serve all transplant candidates, recipients and their families.
The transAction Council has accomplished much since its inception in 1996. We have spearhead the publication of a number of books and pamphlets, including the “Transplant Recipients Bill of Rights and Responsibilities”, “Waiting for a Transplant”, and “From Illness to Wellness: Life after Transplantation”, all of which may be found here. You can request single copies to be mailed to you by contacting NKF’s Information Center at 800-622-9010. I particularly recommend “Transplant Chronicles”, our quarterly newsletter that is available on this Web site or in hard copy by becoming a transAction member. The Council sponsors the transAction Award, given at the U.S. Transplant Games to honor a recipient who has made lives better. We are also busy improving this Web site (be sure to see our message board) and helping NKF plan various programs that will be publicized under News & Events.
